An Agreement for Scientific Cooperation was signed with the Czech Academy of Sciences in June 1991. The agreement was renewed in 1999, and in 2018, when the Academy president, Prof. Nili Cohen, and President Prof. Eva Zažímalová of the Czech Academy signed a renewed Memorandum of Understanding on Scientific Cooperation.
In March 2019, a bilateral workshop on Plant Genomics was jointly held by the two academies in Jerusalem, with the participation of leading scholars from both countries, including President Zažímalová, and president of the Council for International Affairs of the Czech Academy, Prof. Hana Sychrová.

Eight scientists from the Czech Republic, and fifteen Israeli scientists presented talks at the two-day conference, which was attended by over 70 people, primarily doctoral and advanced degree students. The steering committee was chaired by Prof. Arie Altman of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and included IASH member Prof. Ilan Chet. The workshop sessions covered a wide range of subjects of mutual interest, focusing on plant hormones, growth and development; genomics, and metabolomics.
