The Korean Academy of Science and Technology

An Agreement for Scientific Cooperation was signed with The Korean Academy of Science and Technology in 1990. The then President of the Academy Professor Ruth Arnon attended the Inter-Academy Seoul Science Forum in November 2014 and facilitated a roundtable on women in science.
 
In July 2019, Prof. Nili Cohen, president of the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities, and Academy vice president, Prof. David Harel, took part in an official state visit to South Korea, with President of the State of Israel, Mr. Reuven (Ruvi) Rivlin. The visit culminated in a meeting with the President of the Korean Academy of Science and Technology (KAST) Prof. Min-Koo Han, in order to discuss potential future collaboration between the two academies. At the conclusion of the meeting, the two academies renewed their Agreement of Scientific Cooperation, which they signed during a ceremony presided over by President Rivlin.
 
On September 14-15, 2022, the The Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities and The Korean Academy of Science and Technology (KAST) held in Jerusalem the first joint conference on the subject of “Quantum Physics: From Fundamentals to Applications.”
 
A second joint conference of The Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities and The Korean Academy of Science and Technology (KAST) was held on May 22–23 in Seoul, South Korea. The gathering, entitled “When Science Meets Technology,” was led by Israel Academy Member Prof. Yonina Elder and Prof. Beena Kalisky, Chair of the Steering Committee of The Israel Young Academy , and the list of Israeli participants included Israel Academy Members Prof. Joseph Kost and Prof. Noam Nisan, former Israel Young Academy Members Prof. Ashraf Brik, Prof. Michal Feldman and Prof. Yael Hanin, and current Israel Young Academy Members Prof. Itay Halevy and Prof. Ruth Scherz-Shouval.
