Prof. Itamar Willner, Chairperson of the Academy’s Sciences Division, was a guest at the Royal Society’s Summer Science Exhibition, which took place in London. The exhibition was open to the public, including teenagers. Young scientists from various British universities presented scientific innovations in the energy field (alternative fuels; transformation of solar energy into electrical energy), the environment (treatment of pollutants; environmentally friendly materials) and material science.
The Royal Society hosted a gala dinner for senior scientists from the UK and abroad.
The Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities marks with appreciation the Sir Ralph Kohn Memorial at the Royal Society building. Kohn, who passed away in 2016, was a true friend of Israel and worked to promote close scientific relations between the Academy and the Royal Society.
