The Israel Young Academy chooses nine new members

The new members are outstanding scholars who have demonstrated excellence in their research fields and have contributed to society in the public arena.

In elections held at its annual assembly on May 18, 2017, the Israel Young Academy chose nine new members:
 
Prof. Hisham Abu Rayya, School of Social Work, University of Haifa
Prof. Amit Bernstein, Department of Psychology, University of Haifa
Dr. Natasha Gordinsky, Department of Hebrew and Comparative literature, University of Haifa
Prof. Tamar Geiger, Sackler Faculty of Medicine, Tel Aviv University
Prof. Tomer Volanski, Raymond and Beverly Sackler School of Physics and Astronomy, Tel Aviv University
Dr. Keren Weinshall-Margel, Faculty of Law, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem
Prof. Eran Yahav, Faculty of Computer Science, Technion – Israel institute of technology
Dr. Liat Kozma, Department of Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem
Prof. Michal Sharon, Department of Biomolecular Sciences, Weizmann Institute of Science
 
The new members are outstanding scholars who have demonstrated excellence in their research fields and have contributed to society in the public arena. With them, the IYA now has 30 members serving four-year terms.
