The Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities
An Agreement for Scientific Cooperation was signed with the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy (BBAW) in 2000, under which the Academies held a series of bilateral workshops in the humanities on "Science and Peace - Science and War", which ended in 2013.
In December 2013, a second series of workshops, entitled "Update, Modernization and Rationalization Processes in Judaism, Christianity and Islam throughout the Periods," was launched. The first workshop was held in Berlin, and subsequent workshops have alternated between Israel and Germany.
The institutions jointly sponsored the initial publishing of a critical edition of all
Martin Buber writings, which was later supported by the Israel Academy together with the Heinrich Heine Universität, Düsseldorf. The project is now completed, with all 22 volumes published in Germany.
