President of the Israel Academy meets Italian Ambassador Designate and Scientific Attaché

Various possibilities to strengthen and advance the scientific connections between Israel and Italy were discussed in the meeting
23/08/2017
Prof. Nili Cohen, President of the Israel Academy, met today with Italian Ambassador Designate in Israel Gianluigi Benedetti and with the Scientific Attaché Dr. Stefano Boccaletti at the Academy in Jerusalem. This marked the Ambassador’s first official visit to an Israeli institution since arriving in Israel ten days earlier.

They discussed various possibilities to strengthen and advance the scientific connections between Israel and Italy, in particular relations of top scientists from both countries.

The two academies signed an agreement for scientific cooperation in 2000. In November 2017 the Academy will host a bi-national scientific conference on Immunopharmacology attended by distinguished members of both academies. Ambassador Designate Gianluigi Benedetti will open the conference with greetings and will attend the first session.
