Prof. Nili Cohen, President of the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities, and Prof. Ruth Arnon, the Academy’s former President, participated in the 2017 annual meeting of ALLEA (All European Academies) and Academia Europaea, which took place in Budapest, Hungary. The subject of the meeting was Sustainability and Resilience. The National Academy of Hungary and the Young Academy of Europe participated as well.
ALLEA, founded in 1994, serves as a coordinating body for the European national academies. The Israel Academy participates as a founding member.
Prof. Arnon, a board member of ALLEA, represented the Israel Academy at the general council meeting that took place in Austria in April 2016. She has also participated in board meetings in Vienna and Belgrade. At this latest meeting, Prof. Arnon chaired the session on "Health and Disease, Healthy Living."
