Prof. Eliezer Rabinovici, head of the National Higher Energy Committee of the National Academy of Sciences, was re-appointed for the second time as vice president of the CERN Council.
 
Prof. Rabinovici is a professor at the Racah Institute of Physics at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He has served for many years as Israel's representative at CERN and is working to strengthen scientific relations with the organization.
 
CERN operates the world's leading laboratory for the study of elementary particles (The European Particle Laboratory).
