Ambassador of Spain and President of Spain’s National Scientific Research Council Visit the Academy

On December 10, 2019, the President of the Spanish National Scientific Research Council (CSIC), Dr. Rosa Menéndez, visited the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities, accompanied by the Ambassador of Spain, His Excellency, Mr. Manuel Gómez-Acebo.
 
The National Scientific Research Council is the largest public institution in Spain dedicated to scientific research and one of the most renowned of the European Research Area (ERA). It has a staff of 11,000 people, including 3,500 scientists and operates 130 research centers in Spain.
 
Dr. Menéndez met with Academy President Prof. Nili Cohen, and Ms. Jo Cohen, Director of the International Division to learn about the Israel Academy and its activities, as part of a visit to learn about the academic environment in Israel and to deepen scientific cooperation between Spain and Israel. Dr. Menéndez was accompanied by Mrs. Elena Dominguez, Vice-President of International Relations, and Mr. Ricardo Añino, Cultural Counselor at the Spanish Embassy.
