On 1st April, 2020, the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina convened an international working group (online) to discuss the COVID-19 pandemic.

 

Experts taking part in the video conference included Prof. Dr. Giovanni Bussolati of the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei (Italy), Dr. Lothar Kruska, CEO of Seegene Germany GmbH (Germany) and representing the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities, Academy members Professor Naama Barkai and Prof. Adi Kimchi of the Weizmann Institute of Science. The conversation was facilitated by Prof. Gerald Haug, President of the Leoplodina.

 

The working group exchanged information and experiences from their countries regarding COVID-19, and discussed a number of topics including isolation, testing, and tracking. They will continue to maintain contact to discuss future developments and potential future research, or other international endeavors on this matter.
