On December 7, 2021, the Italian Ambassador, H.E. Sergio Barbanti, visited the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities to meet with Academy President Prof. David Harel. The recently appointed ambassador was accompanied by Dr. Stefano Ventura, Scientific Attaché at the Embassy of Italy in Tel Aviv.

They discussed academic and scientific relations between Italy and Israel, and referenced the fruitful cooperation to date with the Italian National Academy of Science - the Lincei. Ambassador Barbanti expressed his support for deepening ties between researchers in Israel and Italy.

  

Former Israel Academy president Prof. Nili Cohen and Academy Vice-President Prof. Margalit Finkelberg took part in the meeting.
