On February 22, 2024, a delegation of thirty senior lecturers from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) visited the Academy on a solidarity mission in the wake of the traumatic events of October 7th.

The delegation, headed by Prof. Tamir Gonen, met with Vice President Prof. Margalit Finkelberg, Chairperson of the Natural Sciences Division Prof. Yadin Dudai, and Head of the International Division, Dr. Neta Peretz.

The participants discussed the challenges facing the higher education system in Israel, and various ways to support Israeli research during this challenging period.

The group will continue its tour of Israel in the coming days and visit several leading academic and scientific institutions.
