The Pizmonim of the Anonymus
Critical edition with Introduction and Commentary.
This collection assembles the works of an anonymous poet who apparently lived in Eretz Israel in the ninth and tenth centuries. The importance of these poems, which all belong to the genre of pizmonim, lies in the opportunity they afford scholars to formulate a correct, precise understanding of one of the most interesting and decisive stages in the development of Oriental Jewish liturgical poetry.
