Series: The Hebrew Palaeography Project
Published jointly with the CNRS, Paris
The purpose of the Hebrew Palaeography Project is to describe and examine mediaeval Hebrew manuscripts bearing dates up to 1540, and thereby to lay a foundation for Hebrew palaeography. The various techniques for producing Hebrew manuscript books are described here for the first time using the codicological methods of modern palaeography. Considerable information is given on the movements of the manuscripts, their owners, censors" imprints, etc. Great care is taken in reproducing the complete texts of the colophons.
