The Poems of Levi Ibn al-Tabbān
Series: Studies in Hebrew Poetry
Critical Edition with Introduction and Commentary Levi ibn al-Tabban, a poet of the Golden Age of Spain who was active at the end of the eleventh century, was forgotten over the course of time, his poems lost or attributed to other poets. Only in the nineteenth century did scholars begin to recover details of his life story. Through the 72 poems collected here for the first time, most of them liturgical, he is revealed as a poet of stature.
