Prof. Liat Ayalon
Liat Ayalon is a clinical psychologist and a professor at the School of Social Work in Bar Ilan University. Her research concerns older adults' mental health, ageism and the intersection of formal and informal care. She has authored over 130 papers in scientific journals, has won prestigious grant awards and successfully mentored a number of post-doctoral, Ph.D.- and MSW-level students. She is a member of the Israel Young Academy and the Global Young Academy. She has also been active in strengthening the tie between academia and public policy, including the successful proposal of a COST Action on ageism (funded by the EU under Horizon 2020; a research network of 200+ researchers from 35 countries) and the coordination of an Innovative Training Program on the intersection of science and policy in the field of ageism (EuroAgeism; a cross-national, multi-disciplinary, inter-sectorial Ph.D. program). She is a member of the core group of the WHO campaign to combat ageism.
