The annual Martin Buber Memorial Lecture took place at the Israel Academy on January 22, 2023. The lecturer was Prof. Daniel Kahneman of Princeton University, 2002 Nobel Laureate in Economics.

Prof. Kahneman has published pathbreaking articles and studies and a number of highly successful books, of which the latest, Noise: A Flaw in Human Judgment, coauthored with Olivier Sibony and Cass R. Sunstein, was published in Hebrew translation in 2022. His lecture at the Academy, entitled “Thinking about Thinking,” focused on errors, intuitive or educated, in decision-making, ensuing from biases or from the deleterious effect of “noise” on one’s judgmental capabilities.
