The President of the German Academy of Sciences Leopoldina visited the Israel Academy

Prof. Hacker met with Academy’s current and former presidents as well as with the Academy’s Council

Prof. Dr. Jörg Hacker, president of the German Academy of Sciences Leopoldina, visited the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities on Thursday, 9th of February 2018, and met with the Academy’s current and former presidents as well as with the Academy’s Council.
 
The visit was held as part of the existing scientific cooperation between the two academies, which includes bi-lateral workshops and scientific events. An agreement regarding scientific cooperation between the Israel Academy and the German Academy Leopoldina was signed in 2013, and since then several joint workshops took place, in the fields of degenerative brain diseases, Chemistry, Neurology, Economics and Law.
 
In their meeting on Thursday last week, the president of the German Academy Leopoldina, Prof. Dr. Jörg Hacker, and the president of the Israel Academy, Prof. Nili Cohen, agreed to strengthen the scientific cooperation between the two bodies.
