The Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities congratulates its Emeritus President, Prof. Jacob Ziv, upon being named the recipient of the distinguished Medal of Honor of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) for 2021. The medal is awarded annually for an exceptional contribution(s) or an extraordinary career in the IEEE fields of interest.

 

The judges’ remarks cite Prof. Ziv’s “fundamental contributions to information theory and data compression technology, and to respectable research leadership.”
