On September 14–15, 2022, in Jerusalem, The Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities and The Korean Academy of Science and Technology held their first binational conference, on the subject of “Quantum Physics: From Fundamentals to Applications”, with the participation of leading scientists in the field from both countries.
 
 
The conference was led by Israel Academy Members Prof. Moty Heiblum and Prof. Amnon Aharoni together with Prof. Ook-Joon Yoo, President of The Korean Academy of Science and Technology, and Korean Academy Member Prof. Prof. Wonho Jhe.

Addressing the conference’s opening session, Israel Academy President Prof. David Harel and Korean Academy President Prof. Ook-Joon Yoo expressed their satisfaction with the cooperation between the two academies and their aspirations for further productive collaboration.
 
 
The agreement for scientific cooperation between the Israel Academy and The Korean Academy of Science and Technology was first signed in 1990 and was renewed in 2019 on the occasion of the state visit of the President of the State of Israel, Mr. Reuven (Ruvi) Rivlin, to South Korea.
