Prof. Nili Cohen, former President of The Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities, participated in a June 2023 conference in Berlin entitled “Upheavals and Transformations,” marking the thirtieth anniversary of the reunification of Germany and of the renewal of the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences (BBAW, the Berlin-Brandenburgische Akademie der Wissenschaften).

 

Prof. Cohen participated in a panel dealing with upheavals and transformations in Europe, together with Prof. Christoph Markschies, President of the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences, Prof. Jüri Engelbrecht, former President of the Estonian National Academy of Sciences, Prof. Aud Valborg Tønnessen, Dean of the Faculty of Theology at the University of Oslo, and Prof. Souleymane Bachir Diagne, Director of the Institute of African Studies at Columbia University.
